Message From the Chief of Police

We are delighted to present you with our webpages exhibiting many facts and other information concerning the Department of Police Services for the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County. This is one of many sources of communication between our Department and the many citizens, visitors, and others that we serve.

We have a special vision of police services, which is unique and shared among only the best police departments in the nation. We believe in the dignity and worth of all people. Therefore, we as a police services entity are committed to managing with a customer-service focus to:

  • Exemplify a high work ethic
  • Personify ethical conduct
  • Provide high-quality, internal and external customer service with sensitivity
  • Protect Constitutional Rights
  • Foster the paramount duties of government by ensuring public safety
  • Advance the use of problem-solving skills
