Employees of the Quarter, Third Quarter of 2000

Athens, 08 January 2001 -- Employees of the Quarter for July-August-September 2000 were recently honored by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Officer Don Eckert was selected as the Sworn Employee of the Quarter. During this period, Officer Eckert made numerous arrests for burglary, drugs, traffic charges, entering auto and theft by receiving as well as for misdemeanors. He also performed CPR on an infant until EMS arrived. His dedication to duty and work ethic are appreciated.

The Civilian Employee of the Quarter was Neighborhood Service Officer Katie Jones. NSO Jones served as a coordinator of a number of activities and assignments in the Crime Prevention Unit. During re-accreditation she provided useful information for proof of compliance. As Seed Coordinator of the Weed and Seed program, she developed strong working relationships with community groups. Her devotion to duty and work ethic make her an exceptional employee.
