VFW Officer of the Year

SPO Willie was honored by the VFW Post 2872 as their Officer of the Year for 2002.

SPO Brinkley was selected for his role as Coordinator for the Weed and Seed Program. This is a sensitive assignment that deals with multiple tasks and issues affecting quality of life issues for citizens in the Weed and Seed target area.

He has established a trusting and effective relationship with citizens and has epitomized this agency's commitment to both Community Oriented Policing and Problem Oriented Policing. As the Weed and Seed Coordinator, SPO Brinkley talks with residents and officers assigned to the area to determine problems that arise. He also works with other government agencies to gather possible solutions to identified problems.

SPO Brinkley has made significant contributions to the citizens of Athens-Clarke County.
