POP Awards Given to Police Officers

If an officer sees a problem in their assigned zone, they are encouraged to use outside resources (i.e. other departments, agencies) to solve the problem. These problems could range from improperly parked vehicles to drug activity in neighborhoods: SPO James Peden and Officer Paul Davidson (pictured with Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin, Sr.) were recognized for their efforts in making Athens-Clarke County a better place to live.

The Downtown Unit was recognized for their work in that area. Chief Lumpkin presented a plaque to the Unit's supervisor, Lt. Gary Epps.
