Citizen Police Academy Graduation

Graduates of the Tenth ACCPD Citizen Police Academy

Chief Joseph H. Lumpkin, Sr., announces the graduation of participants in the tenth session of the Athens-Clarke County Police Department's Citizen Police Academy on November 10 at Trumps. Chuck Horton, Chief of The University of Georgia Police Department, was the guest speaker.

Graduation was the culmination of a 12-week course. Classes, which were held one night each week for three hours, included instruction on topics such as patrol functions, criminal investigation, communication and 911, crime prevention, and many other functions of the police department.

The next session will begin Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at 6:15 p.m.

Applicants must live or work in Athens-Clarke County, be at least 18 years of age and pass a criminal background check. Anyone who would like to participate in this program should contact Captain Carter Greene at 706-613-3330 X247.
